Sosnoskie’s research focuses on the management of weeds in multiple crops, including hops. In addition to conducting herbicide safety screens, she is evaluating the performance and safety of novel weed control technology, such as electric weeders, precision sprayers, and autonomous robotic cultivators. She is currently running IR-4 trials to evaluate novel herbicides for their use in hop production. Visit Lynn’s lab website.

Graduated with Ph.D from Lincoln University, New Zealand in 1989 and worked with AgResearch (NZ) (1990-1996), Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, Australia (1997) and University of Tasmania, Australia (1998-2014) before joining Cornell University NYSAES Geneva in 2014.

Nathan Lewis

Ph.D. Student, Larry Smart Lab

Nathan Lewis is a Ph.D. Student in horticulture.   He is interested in understanding the mechanisms of disease resistance and flowering regulation in hop. This also includes breeding and evaluating high-yielding, disease-resistant hop cultivars suited for New York’s climate.
